Bahra University Hosts “संवेदना” — An Event on Understanding & Inclusion for Specially Abled Children
Bahra University, in collaboration with Sattv Child Development Center and Bhumi, hosted “संवेदना” — a meaningful awareness event promoting understanding and inclusion for specially abled children at Alpha Auditorium, Bahra University.
Bahra University hosted a deeply meaningful event titled “संवेदना” — Understanding & Inclusion for Specially Abled Children, organized in collaboration with Sattv Child Development Center and Bhumi. Held at the Bahra University Alpha Auditorium, the event united students, faculty, medical professionals, and child development experts to champion one powerful message — “Let us come together to build a space where everyone belongs.”
The word संवेदना means sensitivity and empathy — and the event lived up to its name beautifully. Designed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by specially abled children and promote inclusive thinking, the event was led by Event Head & President Achint Kaur, coordinated by Faculty Coordinator Priyanka Sharma, and supported by Campus Ambassador Ayush Sharma.
Event Highlights
The programme featured impactful activities that sparked meaningful conversations around disability, inclusion, and acceptance. A Nukkad Natak (street play) brought to life the everyday realities of specially abled children through powerful storytelling. The Myth vs Reality session dismantled common misconceptions and replaced stigma with facts and empathy. Define Your Normal challenged conventional ideas of normalcy and encouraged students to celebrate diversity and embrace inclusion wholeheartedly.
A Guidance Session by Dr. Charanjeet provided professional insight into understanding and supporting specially abled children, offering students a framework rooted in empathy and informed practice. Additionally, the BPT Department conducted a Physiotherapy Session demonstrating rehabilitative techniques for differently abled children — showcasing Bahra University’s interdisciplinary strength in combining healthcare and social awareness.
संवेदना reflects Bahra University’s vision that goes beyond academic excellence — nurturing socially conscious, empathetic, and responsible professionals. Through collaborations with organizations like Sattv Child Development Center and Bhumi, the university continues to create platforms where awareness meets action and compassion drives change.
