Government of India Initiative “Himachal Pustak Parikrama 2026” Mobile Book Exhibition Organized at Bahra University.

Bahra University successfully organized a Mobile Book Exhibition under Himachal Pustak Parikrama 2026, an initiative by the Government of India through the National Book Trust, at the university campus near the Central Library. The exhibition was organized with the objective of promoting reading habits, academic excellence, intellectual growth, and knowledge sharing among students and faculty members.

The exhibition featured a diverse collection of educational books, literature, novels, competitive examination material, research publications, motivational books, science and technology resources, management books, biographies, and self-development titles. Students and faculty members enthusiastically visited the exhibition and explored a wide range of informative and inspiring books. The initiative also highlighted the importance of Rastriya e-Pustakalaya, a digital library initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, developed in collaboration with the National Book Trust to encourage reading culture among youth across the country. Rastriya e-Pustakalaya aims to provide easy access to quality books in multiple languages and genres for students and readers through digital platforms.

In today’s fast-moving digital era, where most activities are becoming online and youth are increasingly spending more time on mobile phones and digital platforms, such initiatives play an important role in reconnecting students with the habit of reading books. While technology has transformed learning methods, books continue to remain one of the most powerful sources of real knowledge, wisdom, creativity, imagination, and critical thinking. Reading books not only improves concentration and communication skills but also helps in personality development, emotional intelligence, and lifelong learning.

Books inspire young minds, broaden perspectives, and encourage students to think beyond classrooms and social media distractions. The exhibition encouraged students to spend quality time with books and understand the value of reading in achieving academic success and personal growth.
